My mission for the day
My main role for this visit was to support the girls who attended the GirlsActive Roadshow in the delivery of their very own GirlsActive Festival. The girls plan was that this event would become a permanent fixture and support them in their work of raising participation. I opened the festival and helped them to spread the word of the GirlsActive campaign and even join in with the activities during the day. The girls recaptured the motivation and inspiration that was created at the Roadshow and it made such a difference to them – they want this to be the start of real change in their schools.
My time table for the day was:
8.30am Arrival
9.00-9.45am Opening Ceremony, assembly with guest speakers
I ‘opened the festival’ in the main hall and spoke to ALL the girls
9.45- 10am Press launch photocall/interviews and mass Warm up activity
10.00-12-40pm Box exercise Workshop, cheerleading Workshop, and Tae Kwondo Workshop
12.40pm Lunch
12.55pm Press interviews/filming
1.30pm Workshop – Street Dance and Body Combat
2.30pm Ideas station workshop
2.50pm Feedback/Short Discussion conclusion and thank you’s!!
