Roadshow 2008 day one Norlington Boys SSP

Today is the start of the GirlsActive Roadshow 2008
The Roadshow 2008 is an empowerment and motivational day that challenges stereotypes for Year 10 girls, featuring strong female role models who have overcome many personal challenges that they can identify with.
Kimberley Jay (Nike Dance advert), Rebbecca Donnelly (kick boxing world champion and GB boxer), Helen Clayton (England rugby) and Professional dancers are joining me for the day to lead some of the girls activities and help with giving expert instructions.
Today we're helping the girls finding a sport or activity to take part in for their personal development, health and all round well being. They are being given a voice and a choice and a chance to lead the way in their schools and primary schools as GirlsActive Leaders.
The activities included today are Concept2 Rowing, Dance, Team building/Trust Games, Martial Arts (kick boxing/boxing) and Parkour.
The girls have designed their Girls Active t-shirts with their own slogan ‘Our Voice, Our Choice, Our Sport!!!, which sums up the aims of the project.

The girls get assigned to a group prior to taking part in the day’s activities
the 5 groups are blue, yellow, red, green and orange
