The fastest ever ‘On Camp with Kelly’ 800m race at the Aviva London Grand Prix was won by guest athlete Vicky Griffiths (Liverpool Harriers) in an excellent 2:01.98 ahead of Poland’s Agnieszka Leszczynska, the European Under 23 bronze medallist, and OCWK athlete Charlotte Best (Crawley AC).

Pacemaker Vicky Barr went through 200m in 28.13 seconds tracked by Agnieszka, Vicky and Charlotte who were pulling away from the rest of the field. When the bell was passed in 59.32 seconds the front four remained the same followed by Germany’s Annett Horna and Mactheld Mulder from The Netherlands. Emma Jackson (City of Stoke) started to move through the field after the pacemaker dropped out at the 500 metre point, going into fourth place. As Agnieszka began to tire, Vicky took the lead off the final bend and pulled away for the win in a season’s best of 2:01.98. Agnieszka held on for second in 2:02.44 with Charlotte taking third in 2:02.69.

The fastest finisher on the home straight was Laura Finucance (Pendle AC) who clocked 2:03.03 in just her second race of the season to take fourth. Emma Jackson was fifth in 2:03.38 while Tara Bird (Woodford Green with Essex Ladies) passed Annett Horna (2:03.95) and Machteld Mulder (2:04.11) on the home straight to take sixth in 2:03.84. Hannah Brooks (Crawley AC) was ninth in 2:05.49, Rowena Cole (Coventry Godiva Harriers) tenth in 2:05.67 and Dani Christmas 11th in 2:08.77.
