A number of ‘On Camp with Kelly’ athletes were in action at the Loughborough International at Loughborough University on Sunday 18 May.
OCWK athletes filled four of the top five places in the women’s match 800m, with the win going to Charlotte Best, representing Loughborough University, in 2:04.34 ahead of Joanna Ross of Scotland in 2:04.75. Alison Leonard (GB Under 20) took third in 2:05.31, Tara Bird (BUSA) took over a second off her personal best with 2:05.70 in fourth and Emma Jackson (guest, City of Stoke) was fifth in 2:06.46.

In the 800m invitation race, Dani Christmas (Crawley AC - pictured on the right)) set a new personal best of 2:05.59 to take second place behind Claire Gibson who won in 2:05.28. Rachel Stringer (City of Norwich) finished in fifth place in 2:07.74, Lucy Dowsett (Cambridge & Coleridge) sixth in 2:10.39 and Leigh Lennon (Newham & Essex Beagles) seventh in 2:10.78.
The 1500m invitation race was won by Laura Weightman (Morpeth Harriers) by over a second with 4:25:69 with Stevie Stockton (Vale Royal) taking fifth place in 4:31.53. Emma Pallant took sixth place in the match 1500m in 4:19.19, with Louise Small (guest, Aldershot, Farnham & District) 11th in 4:25.78 and Linzi Snow (BUSA) 12th in 4:30.27.

There were also personal bests for three of the male athletes who took part in the recent OCWK Educational Camp in Loughborough. David Forrester (GB Under 20) took one and a half seconds off his personal best with 3:46.23 to finish eighth against senior athletes in the match 800m. Ross Millington won the invitation 1500m in 3:47.64, nearly two seconds better than his previous best, while Chris Smith (Wirral AC) finished third in the ‘A’ invitation 800m in 1:50.35. James Brewer (BUSA) was third in the match 800m in 1:49.50 and Adam Moore (Bracknell AC) was second in the ‘B’ invitation 800m in 1:53.75.
Two OCWK athletes were in action on Saturday 17 May, both setting new personal bests over 800m.
At the Georgia Tech Invitational in Atlanta, USA, Hannah England took second in the 800m in 2:02.48, taking over a second off the personal best of 2:03.65 that she had set on the same track four weeks earlier. This time currently places her fifth on the 2008 European rankings.
At the BMC Nike Grand Prix in Watford Jordan Kinney (Royal Sutton Coldfield) set a new best for 800m of 2:11.67 when finishing second in the B race.
