Anthony Whiteman wins Northern 800m title

‘On Camp with Kelly’ supervisor Anthony Whiteman (Shaftesbury Barnet) was a convincing winner of the 800m title at the Northern Indoor Championships in Sheffield on Sunday 15 January.  He won by over three seconds in 1:52.58, a M40 UK indoor record.  ‘Future Stars with Kelly’ athlete Phil Hurst (Elswick Harriers) won the men’s 3000 by nearly 20 seconds in 8:19.68 while Alex Turner (Amder Valley) took second in the women’s 800m in 2:17.96.

At the Leonard Hilton Invitational in Houston in the USA on Friday 13 January Chris Smith (Wirral AC) won the 800m in 1:57.38.
