There was another excellent performance from an ‘On Camp with Kelly’ athlete at the Memorial Josefa Odlozila meeting in Prague, Czech Republic, on Wednesday 13 June.
Laura Finucane (Pendle AC), who has been part of ‘On Camp with Kelly’ since the first Educational Camp in South Africa in 2004 finished eighth in 2:01.35 in an 800m race won by European Indoor champion Oksana Zbrozhek from Russia in 1:58.84, the fastest time by a European athlete this year.
Laura’s time was a second faster than the 2:02.4 she ran in South Africa in January this year and over two and a half seconds quicker than her previous best of 2:03.73 which dated back to 2004.
Following Laura’s performance, ‘On Camp with Kelly’ now boasts three athletes in the European senior top 30 list for 2007 – Laura in 18th place, Charlotte Best (Crawley AC) in 21st place with 2:01.66 and Emma Jackson (City of Stoke) in 24th place with 2:01.95.
