A number of ‘On Camp with Kelly’ athletes were in action on the boards and over the country both at home and abroad on the weekend of 6-7 February.
Hannah England (Oxford City AC) smashed her 3000m best with a time of 8:56.72 at the Reebok Boston Indoor Games in the USA on Saturday 6 February. She finished sixth in the race which was won by Kalkidan Gezahegn of Ethiopia in 8:46.19.
Ross Millington (Stockport Harriers) and Kris Gauson (Edinburgh AC) finished fifth and seventh in the mile in 4:02.02 and 4:06.68 respectively at the Meyo Invitational in South Bend, Indiana, USA on 6 February.
Dani Christmas (Crawley AC) finished second over 800m at the Gugl Indoor Meeting in Linz, Austria, on Thursday 4 February. She clocked 2:07.52 behind Veronika Mrackova of the Czech Republic’s 2:05.18.

At McCain City Challenge Match 1 in Sheffield on Sunday 7 February Andrew Osagie (Harlow AC - right on the picture above) won the men’s 800 for his London Warriors team in 1:53.18. Stacey Smith (Gateshead Harriers) was fourth in the women’s 800m for Newcastle Angels in 2:09.30 behind winner Vicky Griffiths who clocked 2:07.47. Rachael Thompson (Liverpool Harriers) set a new indoor best for 1500m of 4:28.63 in finishing second for Manchester Warriors in the women’s 1500m behind Faye Fullerton’s 4:21.72. Nikki Maddick (Kingston upon Hull) was fourth for Newcastle Angels in 4:38.06.

At the Birmingham Games on 6-7 February, Leigh Lennon won the senior women’s 800m by three and a half seconds in 2:10.69 and also ran 57.47 to finish third in heat 3 of the 400m. Rowena Cole won heat 1 of the Under 20 women’s 800m by over five seconds in an indoor best of 2:08.04.
At the BUCS Cross Country Championships in Stirling, Mitch Goose and Ben Lindsay were third and fourth in the men’s 11.1km race in 35:11 and 35:16 respectively. With team mate Andy Vernon winning in 34:32, it was no surprise that St Mary’s took the team title.
In the women’s 6.4km race, Stevie Stockton led her Loughborough team to the title with second place in 22:56 behind Steph Twell who clocked 22:41. Non Stanford (Birmingham) was 14th in 23:56, Hannah Brooks (Birmingham) 28th in 24:36, Jordan Kinney (Loughborough) 30th in 24:41 and Alison Leonard (Birmingham) 35th in 24:55.
