Louise received an 'On Camp with Kelly' Outstanding Achievement Award in 2009 in recognition of her bronze medal in the 3000m at the European Athletics Junior Championships.

Performances in 2009

After an good domestic cross country season, Louise finished in 33rd place at the IAAF World Junior Cross Country Championships.  On the track she improved her 1500m best to 4:21.07 at the BMC Nike Grand Prix in Manchester on 30 May and her 3000m best to 9:21.96 at the St Mary's Classic on 3 June.  At Watford on 13 June she went to tenth on the UK Under 20 all-time list for 5000m with 16:11.03 on her debut at the distance. She improved her 3000m best again to 9:18.82 when taking the silver medal at the Aviva England Under 20 Championships on 28 June.  Louise ran a tactically astute race at the IAAF World Youth Championships to take fifth place in the 1500m in 4:22.73 and two weeks later won a bronze medal over 3000m at the European Athletics Junior Championships in a new personal best of 9:15.47.

Performances in 2008

Louise set a new personal best for 1500m of 4:24.72 in her first race of the season and has also taken four seconds off her 800m best with 2:10.98 and 14 seconds off her 3000m best with 9:28.91. She finished fourth in the 3000m at the England Athletics Under 20 Championships and in the same position in the Intermediate 1500m at the English Schools. She also had a successful cross country season, finishing second in the English Schools Intermediate race and third in the National Under 17 race. She also won the London Mini Marathon in April.

Introduction to Athletics

Louise was inspired to start running at the age of 13 after watching her brother run in a cross country race.
